Since
moving to the Seattle area in 1997, Susan Salas has performed principal
roles with Tacoma Opera, Spokane Opera, the Seattle Academy of Baroque
Opera, Bellevue Opera, the Seattle Gilbert and Sullivan Society,
Vocal
Arts Northwest
and
Skagit
Opera.
She is
a Regular Chorister with Seattle Opera, as well. This summer, she
will be heard as Maddalena in Rigoletto with Montana Lyric Opera's
first summer festival.
Susan
is also a frequent recitalist and oratorio soloist and was the Resident
Mezzo Soprano Soloist with the Seattle
Choral Company in their 2004-2005 season. She made her Seattle Symphony
debut at the 2006 New Year's Eve gala. She has also appeared as a
soloist with the Billings Handel Festival, the
Seattle
Symphony
Soundbridge
lecture series, Lake Union Civic Orchestra and Skagit Opera.
Susan was a National Semi-Finalist in the Eleanor
Lieber Competition and placed first in the Performing Arts Festival
of the Eastside Duet Competition with Cristina Villareale and performed
in their Stars of Tomorrow concert series. She currently studies voice
with Elizabeth Moore.
